Can I just say how excited I am about this?! I have dreamt of writing about the beauty industry for over a decade. Well before our society became familiar with Blogs! And with the Internet, social media, and your help, I know this is going to be so much fun, as well as informative for you as consumers! (Hopefully!) Please read to the end, as I need your help!
First things first, I want you all to really get to know me. Too many times I read and research, only to find a lot of biased info coming from someone who may, or may not, be an expert on the subject. With so much information out there, it is easy to get overwhelmed, confused, and go BROKE buying too many things YOU may not need! (Can I get an amen?!)
My name is Tarrah Evans Bouts, and I have been a licensed esthetician (skincare professional) for over 11 years. I average working with 120 different clients (mostly women) a month, and my personal, regular client base is around 300 women. I own Amelia Gray Skincare + Cosmetics, where I have 3 of the world's best employees! Each of these employees have their own regular clients that they work with as well. So, I'm simply getting at, we SEE a lot of faces! I actually started my career at a makeup counter more than 15 years ago and became obsessed with cosmetic ingredients. After finishing my Business degree at Shawnee State University, I enrolled in Esthetic's training, and never looked back.
I have always attributed the success of my career on one, primary fundamental..........education. I am certified to offer modalities such as microdermabrasion, advanced chemical peels, microphototherapy, and (our most exciting) Rezenerate treatments. I am also trained with Osmosis and Bioelements skincare lines, as well as Face Reality, where I am a certified Acne Specialist. My regular clients can also attest that I HATE cookie cutter facials and generic info! I am always bringing something new to the (facial) table!
Why do I spend so much time on educating myself if I am already busy with clients and scheduled out? Because I have learned that this industry is always changing! And I feel it is my responsibility to bring our area the best and newest information out there! Esthetics is an amazing mix of beauty, trends, science, and holistic wellness. So there is always new research, findings, and processes to keep up with!
I LOVE the city of Portsmouth, and I strive to bring the most up to date information available to everyone! I am not content with maintaining the status quo. Our clients at Amelia Gray are like us-- progressive! So while we may live in an adorably quaint, small town, my goal is to provide you with the conveniences and experience of a larger city. That means bringing you the BEST services, products, and research.
